How to Configure Domains for Funnels and Websites?
To establish your new domain, follow these guidelines:
Step 1: (DNS Setup) Add an A record OR a CNAME record:
To proceed with this step, you must access your domain registrars, such as Cloudflare or GoDaddy. Depending on your domain host, you can opt for one of the two methods below:
CNAME:
You can add a CNAME record for your subdomains using the value flash.funnels.msgsndr.com
Guidelines for Adding a CNAME Record to Different Domain Registrars:
Cloudflare instructions
Important: When using Cloudflare, ensure the Proxy status is set to "DNS only" as we do not support Cloudflare Proxy.
A Record
Alternatively, you can add an A record for your root domain or subdomain, directing it to 34.68.234.4
Important: When using Cloudflare, ensure the Proxy status is set to "DNS only" as we do not support Cloudflare Proxy.
Once you've added your domain to the domain registrar and made the necessary changes, please be aware that DNS settings may take some time to propagate. If it doesn't work immediately, allow up to 24 hours for the changes to take effect before trying again.
Step 2: Add the domain/Subdomain in your sub-account:
Navigate to your CRM sub-account and access the "Settings" section.
Go to the "Domains" section and click "Add New Domain."
In this section, you can enter the root domain and subdomain names after the DNS records have fully propagated.
Kindly note that if you wish to have a funnel step or website page open directly at the root domain without any additional path (e.g., domain.com instead of domain.com/home), you can designate that specific page as the default page for the domain. This can be done by accessing Settings > Domains > Edit Domain.
Step 3: Associate the Domain to a Funnel/Website:
Go to Sites > Funnels/Website and open the specific Funnel/Website you wish to access.
Head to Funnel Settings
In this section, you can select your preferred Domain from the list of available options and then click on the Save button.
Once you've completed the process, your Domain will be linked to the chosen Funnel.
How to check your DNS records (DNS Lookup Tool)
To use MXtoolbox for checking the DNS records of your Domain, follow these steps:
Go to the MXtoolbox website at https://mxtoolbox.com
You will find a dropdown menu on the homepage with options such as MX Lookup, DNS Lookup, Blacklists, etc. Choose the type of DNS record you want to check from the dropdown menu. Common options include:
MX Lookup: Check your Domain's mail exchange (MX) records.
DNS Lookup: Check various DNS records like A, AAAA, CNAME, NS, etc.
TXT Lookup: To check the text (TXT) records for your Domain, which often contain information like SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records.
CNAME Lookup: To check your Domain's canonical name (CNAME) records.
Once you have selected the appropriate option from the dropdown menu, enter your domain name (e.g., example.com) in the input field provided next to the dropdown menu.
Following these steps, you can easily use MXtoolbox to check and verify your Domain's DNS records.
Click on the "DNS Lookup" button to start the search.
The tool will then present the DNS records for the Domain you provided. You might need to scroll down to view all the results.
Remember that DNS records may only update after you've recently made changes to your Domain's configuration. The changes can take some time to propagate online, usually within 24-48 hours.
Removing a Domain from the account
To remove a domain from your account, go to Settings > Domains and click the trash icon next to the domain you wish to delete.
Confirm the deletion by clicking "OK" when prompted.

What causes an SSL Error?
An SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) error occurs due to issues with the SSL certificate or the SSL/TLS (Transport Layer Security) configuration on a website. SSL/TLS is a security protocol that ensures encrypted and secure communication between a user's browser and the web server. SSL errors can arise from various issues, indicating potential insecure connections between the user's browser and the web server.
If your Domain is displaying a privacy/SSL error, it may be caused by one of the following reasons:
Multiple DNS (A or CNAME) records exist for the same domain/subdomain. Each domain or subdomain should only be associated with one platform/server at a time, requiring only one DNS record for that domain/subdomain.
A DNS record has yet to be added for the Domain, leading to missing or incomplete configuration.
The Domain has an AAAA record added, which conflicts with the A/CNAME record required for proper SSL configuration.
What causes the error "CNAME / A record not found."
This error can occur when your DNS record is misconfigured or added to the wrong domain host. To resolve this, utilize a DNS lookup tool to determine where your Domain is hosted (GoDaddy, CloudFlare, Namecheap, etc.). Ensure that the DNS record is correctly added to the appropriate domain host to avoid the SSL error.
404 Error
A 404 error, also known as "404 Not Found," is a standard HTTP status code that indicates the requested web page or resource could not be found on the server. This error typically occurs when a user tries to access a non-existent URL or when the requested page has been deleted or moved to a different location without proper redirection.
If you encounter a 404 error for your Domain without any path, such as mydomain.com, you can resolve it by going to Settings > Domains > Edit Domain > Select a default page. If it is already selected, try saving it again.
If your Domain shows a 404 error despite having a default path, e.g., mydomain.com/home, then ensure that one of the connected funnels/websites has the same path added in page settings. If the path is already added and the error persists, go to the funnel/website settings > remove the Domain > Save > add the Domain again and save.
If your Domain shows a 404 error intermittently, it may be due to using the www/root domain with your funnel/website. In this case, ensure you have set up a redirect from www to the non-www (root) domain or vice versa.
Why do my Cloudflare domains not work with a Proxy?
If your DNS configuration is correct, but you encounter privacy errors, image display issues, or face problems adding the domain, ensure that you have set the proxy status in CloudFlare to "DNS Only."
Setting the CNAME/A record to "proxied" can cause errors.
CloudFlare's proxy status should only be set to "proxied" when setting up a redirect, following the instructions provided in the steps for redirect setup.
FAQs
